Nashik | May 13, 2025 — In yet another alarming incident linked to the city’s unseasonal weather, a large tree came crashing down on moving vehicles near the Sharanpur signal on the busy Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Road on Tuesday afternoon, damaging two cars and an auto-rickshaw. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.
The road, known for its heavy traffic flow, was brought to a standstill following the mishap. Eyewitnesses said the tree fell suddenly, giving drivers no time to react. Alert bystanders immediately rushed to help, pulling passengers out of the crushed vehicles to safety.
This incident comes just a day after a tragic accident in Satpur, where a tree collapsed onto a moving two-wheeler, claiming the lives of two young men. The back-to-back occurrences have sparked growing concern among residents over the safety of city roads lined with aging and unmaintained trees.
Emergency response teams, including the police and fire brigade, reached the site promptly. Traffic was diverted as efforts began to clear the debris and restore movement on the arterial road.
Civic authorities have yet again come under scrutiny, with locals demanding urgent tree audits and preventive measures in high-risk areas. As unseasonal rains continue to lash the city, the frequency of such incidents is raising red flags over public safety and infrastructure preparedness.
