Nashik | November 1, 2025: In Nashik, police have registered a case against 20 accused — including notorious criminals Ajay Bagul and Mama Rajwade, along with Balasaheb Pathak, Sanjay Rathi, and Mahesh Rathi — for allegedly terrorizing a sculptor’s family, extorting ₹57 lakh, and illegally seizing their land over the past few months.
The complaint was lodged by Chandan Gotiram Bhoir, a sculptor residing in the Ghatark Fata area of Panchavati. According to the complaint, the gang led by Sanjay Rathi, Mahesh Rathi, Ajay Bagul, and Mama Rajwade had illegally occupied Bhoir’s land since March 2025.
The accused allegedly attempted to assault the victims with iron rods and sticks, issued death threats, and extorted ₹57 lakh from them. The complaint further mentions that the accused demanded an additional ₹2 crore in exchange for returning the seized land.
Police have also booked Meena Lolge, Pratik Lolge and his brother, Balasaheb Pathak, along with 10 to 12 unidentified accomplices, in connection with the case.
Charges registered under:
Sections 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 119 (Extortion), 189(2), and 329 (Illegal possession of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been invoked in the case.
The investigation has been handed over to Assistant Police Inspector Borse, who is leading a special team to trace and arrest the accused.
