Lured with high return on investment, Nashik man duped for ₹ 24 lakhs

Nashik (Correspondent): In a case involving a fraud worth ₹ 24.66 lakhs, the Cyber Police have registered a case against representatives of a share trading company.

According to the information provided by the police and complaint filed by Vivek Saundane (R/o Makhmalabad Road), it was told that the accused contacted the victim Vivek Saundane using social media between December 2023 to April 2024. The accused lured Saundane with a prospect of higher returns with online share trading.

The accused used names of various companies claiming that by investing in these shares, the value of the shares had increased. Trusting them Saundane, invested ₹24 lakhs with the accused named Janhavi Bhosale and Kunal Agnihotri. It was promised that profits would be obtained within two months.

However, even after five months passing by, no profits were seen. Suspecting foul play, Saundane contacted representatives Janhavi Bhosale and Kunal Agnihotri and asked to return the money. The accused refused to return the money saying that it was invested. Upon learning that the money invested was not invested in stock market as promised, Vivek Saundane, filed a complaint with the police.
