Nashik (Correspondent): To reduce crimes related to tampering and counterfeiting of vehicle number plates, ensure proper identification of vehicles on roads, and enhance national security, it is mandatory for all vehicles to be fitted with High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP). As per the circular issued by the Transport Department on December 23, 2024, vehicle owners of models manufactured before April 1, 2019, must promptly install HSRP number plates on their vehicles. This directive has been issued through a press release by the Regional Transport Officer, Nashik.
For Nashik district, the agency M/s. FTA HSRO Solutions Pvt. Ltd has been designated for this service, and the official website for registration is http://maharashtrahsrp.com. Vehicle owners must register on this website, book a convenient appointment, and get their number plates installed. Additionally, it is mandatory to have the owner’s mobile number updated in the office records. The prescribed fees for HSRP number plate installation (excluding GST) are as follows:
- ₹450 for two-wheelers/tractors
- ₹500 for three-wheelers
- ₹745 for all other vehicles
If a group of 25 or more vehicle owners from offices, housing societies, or similar locations request installation together, the service will be provided at their premises without any additional charges beyond the prescribed fees set by the government.
Failure to install HSRP number plates will result in the suspension of various vehicle-related services, including ownership transfer, address change, hypothecation endorsement/removal, duplicate registration certificates, and insurance updates. In case of any issues or complaints, vehicle owners can lodge their concerns through the service provider’s portal or at the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Nashik, as mentioned in the press release.
