Learn MoreNashik | Dated: May 20, 2025: On Tuesday evening, sudden rainfall accompanied by strong winds caused several large trees to collapse directly onto power lines in various parts of Nashik city. Additionally, broken branches damaged electric wires, leading to widespread power outages. Teams of engineers and linemen from MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) are actively working to remove the fallen trees and branches to restore electricity at the earliest.
One of the major impacts was seen at the Nashik District Hospital substation, where a tree fell within the premises, disrupting the entire substation’s power supply. Restoration work is underway on a priority basis. As a result, electricity supply has been affected in the surrounding areas including the Public Works Department, District General Hospital, Golf Club, Ravivar Karanja, Chandak Circle, and Mumbai Naka.
Similarly, a tree collapsed on the 11kV Ashok Stambh line in Gharpure Ghat. Another tree fell in front of the Mhasoba Temple near the Panchavati Police Station, which has led to outages along the Sinhasta, Ravivar Karanja, and Panchavati power lines.
In addition, power supply on Gangapur Road has been disrupted due to trees falling on electrical systems in multiple locations: Ekta Nagar on Dindori Road under Mhasrul Substation, Sadguru Nagar in Govind Nagar, the NICE area in Satpur MIDC, and near Vishal Point on College Road. Areas such as Balwant Nagar, Makhmalabad, and Chandshi village along Gangapur Road have also been affected.
MSEDCL engineers and linemen are on-site, working continuously to clear debris and carry out repairs to restore normal power supply across the affected regions.
