Nashik: Man Arrested for Daylight Armed Robbery at Jeweler’s Shop!

Nashik (Correspondent): A shocking daylight robbery took place at a jewelry shop in New Nashik (CIDCO) on Monday (February 20) around 1:45 PM. The incident created panic in the city. Police have successfully arrested one of the accused, while search teams have been dispatched to locate the remaining two suspects.

On February 17, 2025, around noon, three unidentified men stormed into Shri Jewelers, a shop within the jurisdiction of Ambad Police Station. They threatened the jeweler at gunpoint, stole gold ornaments, and sprayed a substance on the faces of the jeweler and his wife before escaping on a Bullet motorcycle. Following a complaint by the victims, a case was registered at Ambad Police Station under FIR No. 140/2025, citing multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 311, 309(4), 333, 351(2), 3(5), and 25(4).

The Nashik City Police Crime Branch Unit 1 investigated the scene and reviewed CCTV footage to track the suspects’ movements. During the probe, an informant tipped off the police that a man riding a Bullet motorcycle without a number plate would arrive at Sinnar Phata to sell stolen gold. Acting on this information, teams from Crime Branch Units 1 and 2 set up a trap and successfully apprehended the suspect.

The arrested individual has been identified as Nilesh alias Shubham Hiralal Beldar (Age: 25, Resident of Flat No. 9, Nandan Apartment, Datt Nagar, Chunchale, Nashik). Police seized the Bullet motorcycle used in the crime, along with 44.850 grams of gold and 87.870 grams of silver jewelry, valued at ₹5,40,225. The accused confessed to committing the robbery with the help of two accomplices. Police teams are now actively pursuing the two absconding suspects.
