Nashik: MD Drugs Worth ₹3.5 Lakh Seized Near Railway Station; Husband and Wife Arrested!

Nashik (Correspondent): A major drug bust near Nashik Road Railway Station led to the seizure of MD drugs worth ₹3.5 lakh, resulting in the arrest of a man and a woman. The operation was carried out by the Nashik City Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad.

On March 1- 2025, Senior Police Inspector Sushila Kolhe, in charge of the Anti-Narcotics Squad, received confidential information that two individuals—Abdul Samad Siraj Ahmed Ansari alias Babu (45 years old, resident of Kamalpura Survey No. 15, near Akhada Masjid, Malegaon) and his wife Shabana Abdul Samad Ansari (40 years old, resident of the same address)—were planning to arrive near Nashik Road Railway Station around 8:00 AM to sell MD drugs.

Acting on this intelligence, the Anti-Narcotics Squad set up a strategic trap. The officers apprehended Abdul Samad Siraj Ahmed Ansari with 61.5 grams of methamphetamine (MD) worth approximately ₹3,07,500, while his wife, Shabana Abdul Samad Ansari, was found in possession of 10.5 grams of methamphetamine worth ₹52,500. Both were illegally holding the narcotic substance for personal profit and intended to sell it.

Additionally, other seized materials worth ₹20,300 brought the total value of confiscated items to ₹3,80,300. A case has been registered against the accused at Nashik Road Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

This successful operation was carried out under the directives and guidance of Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Prashant Bachhav, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mitke. The key officers involved in the operation were Senior Police Inspector Sushila Kolhe, Assistant Police Inspectors Sachin Chaudhary and Vishal Patil, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Ranjan Bendale, Sanjay Tajane, and Devkisan Gaykar, along with Police Constables Balwant Kolhe, Ganesh Wadje, Aniruddha Yevle, Yogesh Sanap, Balasaheb Nandre, Chandrakant Bagde, and Woman Police Constable Archana Bhad. All officers are part of the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Nashik City Crime Branch.
